Hilary Wili Clothing and Costume Ltd has over 20 years experience producing a wide range of period costumes and contemporary garments.
We specialise in 20th and 21st Century men's and women's wear and in particular the 1940s and 1950s.
We have worked on numerous high profile film, T.V, music and theatre projects including Sister Act, Gulliver's Travels, Spamalot, Virgin Atlantic adverts, The Mighty Boosh, Kylie Aphrodite Tour, Moon, French and Saunders and Ashes to Ashes. Our private clients have included Kylie Minogue, Jeff Beck, Dawn French, Lenny Henry, Annie Lennox and Janet Street Porter.
Each item is individually pattern cut and produced on a made-to-measure basis.
Designs can be taken from a client's original sketches and ideas or be inspired from magazine images, film clips or original garments. We also have a large collection of 20th century dress patterns and books, which can be used as reference. We carry no stock of ready-made clothing.
Anything is possible, from the most outrageous or fantastic costume to a stunning couture evening or wedding dress to a beautifully classic tailored suit or coat.
We take on single garment commissions right through to large costume runs.
We can also alter, repair and copy existing garments and can usually offer a quick turn-around time if your deadlines are tight.
Our studio is based in Clapham SW4, a short walk from Clapham Common tube.
